Ford's weekend wrap up

Sorry for the lack of output guys, there's been a lot of work to do at Stroker and co for the past few weeks.  I gotta say, last weekend was a very disappointing one for the firm on the Nescac side of things.  Williams beat Amherst 9-6.  How the hell does that even happen?  A week before, Amherst was literally one of the best teams in the entire country.  Now they just got beat by one of the worst teams in the ‘Cac this year.  Amherst is full of stallions like Bob Gross and Thompson Lau, had a statement victory over Bowdoin and then they lost to williams. This mammoth’s squad does more pregame fent than all of Venezuela and Mexico combined, and

I saw Coach McCormick and Coach Brand putting narcan in their waters, so take from that what you will.

Wesleyan beat Amherst and lost to Tufts in overtime.  The loss to Midd was likely a fluke I’m sad to say because I fuck with the guys on Midd, and Salisbury is arguably the number 2, so don’t count them out for 3 losses.  I didn’t rank Wesleyan super high, but they’ve done great, and they might have a shot at winning the nescac tournament.  There are a lot of beauties on this team, and I can’t wait to see what they do.  Hopefully, they can follow through with that once they get a bid to the show this year, unlike last year.  It ruined my bracket and I almost lost Ford VII’s Winchendon tuition when they lost to Saint John Fisher.

Midd is on a winning streak, so you could chalk up their early season losses to them just not having their feet under the.  Maybe Coach Campbell got caught up in the “leave no doubt this year” mentality because the last 2 years, they did pretty well but didn’t get the ship, and denied the guys their pregame muff and only let them rip elf bars (no carts for the boys in blue), but then realized it wasn’t working at all and he should let the fellas have their fun.  But more likely, they just are kind of mid this year, all their losses coming against pretty good teams, and except for the win against Wesleyan, they don’t have victories over anyone actually good.  Either way, they might squeak by with a bid to the show, because right now, I’m thinking Tufts, Amherst and Wesleyan have three of the four Nescac spots on lock.  It’s a battle between Midd and Bowdoin (and maybe Trinity if they do well in the tournament).  Neither Midd or Bowdoin have super notable wins, because the only time Bowdoin actually got tested, they ended up shitting the bed.

Colby hasn’t won a single game in the conference this year.  They did beat MIT, and I guess that shows how much better the Nescac is then just about all the other conferences.  But good lord, there's a reason a good percentage of guys who originally commit to Colby leave after freshman year to either rule the die table at Knoxville or just quit, smoke as much green as humanly possible to forget that they are stuck in bumfuck Maine for another 3 years, and graduate with a degree in some environmental bullshit.

And I don’t even think that Jake Bernhardt is a bad coach, I just think that someone can only can only do so much with Colby’s limited talent in the Nescac.  They have some ugly birds (exception is women’s lacrosse), don’t have great connections, and arguably the worst location; cold, boring and isolated.

At the end of the day though, the ‘Cac is still the best conference in D3.  We have the best talent, and I think that by and large, we play the highest level of lacrosse and have the most grit.  All the people shitting on me in the IG comments saying the Nescac is soft, fucking come play my men’s league team which is everybody from the Midd national championship team of ‘01.  We will run up the scoreboard board faster than my interns will run through your daughter.  Thank you and good night.
