Day 1:
UPPER DECKY vs Fat Sunday, 8:15 am. 5-4 L
Obvious nightmare fuel being matched up against Brendan Curry and his goons in the 8am game running on like an hour of sleep but the boys fared well. The team couldv'e used a few line drills or maybe some key bumps pregame considering sticks were not dialed and we completed a total of 8 passes all game. Still lost by 1. Aiden Best (Lafayette) played insane and got many tough ground balls for his brothers. Fundamental scoop through contact, big turn on the clear, overhand bouncer typa guy. Well hung as well. Alex Rode is not washed and is still fucking gross. Our goalies Tommy Wilk (Stony Brook) and Ellis Wilson (Hobart) stood on their heads and won Player of the Game and a pack of Newports.
UPPER DECKY vs J'Eagles, 9:55 am. 15-6 W
Behind strong performances on offense from #420 Sam Miller (St John Fisher), Nick Bell (Colorado College), team Upper Decky walked all over the Juniata College eagles. They were not very good. Fogo wanted all the smoke and Davis Cronin (denison) teabagged him for 40 minutes of running time. Certified nailgun and big back Zach Bender (Bryant) played tremendous as well. Player of the game went to #420 Sam Miller (St John Fisher).
We saw brail highlights after the game and asked if he wanted film for us. He said no and went to chipotle. No discipline from that spineless man.
UPPER DECKY vs C&K Scrapmetal, 12:25 pm. 8-7 W
This game started great. The teams had a joint pregame roundtable which heard suggestions to play the game to 1, play the entire game walking, or not play the game at all (the beach was calling). None of these materialized and the game went on as usual. Sean Donaldson (St John Fisher) was great with a hitch sending his defender to parker house early and a couple nice goals on the sweep. Jack Aimone (Penn State) almost killed a dog and Sam Miller (St John Fisher) threw 11 fakes before nailing a twister on the doorstep. Camaraderie was good between teams until one of the bad guys got frisky with goalie Ellis Wilson (Hobart) and got rocked. The refs weren't happy and neither was Nick Bell. Tensions were high and score was close, but Davis Cronin (Denison) won every ensuing face off and goalie Ian McIntyre (St John Fisher) was lights out en route to victory. The team showed their grit, heart, and most importantly, discipline. Yup. Player of the game went to Sean Donaldson (St John Fisher).
Day 2:
UPPER DECKY vs Beacon Stars, 10:45 pm. 8-6 L
Captain Davis Cronin and Coach Nick couldn't get to day 2 after a snowstorm in the NYC area and it hurt. The boys were hung Stuart Little and got pieced at the X by a salisbury dude going way too hard. Nobody on defense could stop the 45 year old unc with a beer belly. Mike Minicus (Colgate) was stellar and showed his versatility dodging from x and the low wing but it wasn't enough to sustain a lead. We found ourselves down 1 having to run a 2 minute drill after they called a timeout (what the fuck). They definitely didn't get chewed up and shit out by Manasquan bars the night before. We did. We are the real winners.
Upper Decky will be back at the shore in 2025. Definitely in the B division again. Prepare for war fellas.
